South Alabama versus Kent State Preview

South Alabama at Kent State—South Alabama is a hard squad to judge as being only a couple years old as a program with aspirations to move up to I-A football in the next few years. The Jaguars won the first 2 games of the season over West Alabama and Lamar before losing to an average North Carolina State squad 35-13. They kept the NC State rushing attack in check but could not stop the pass showing off the lack of talent in the secondary compared to solid I-A programs. Kent State is 0-3 with losses to Alabama, Louisiana Lafayette, and Kansas State. The Golden Flashes are in the bottom 20 in the country in passing offense, rushing offense, points allowed, and points scored. This game will give them a chance to get the offense and defense on track going into conference play. The Golden Flashes put this game on the schedule for only one reason: to get a win. Kent State 24-7.
