VMI versus Akron Preview

VMI at Akron—VMI is a I-AA squad that is coming into this matchup with an 0-3 record with losses to Delaware State, William and Mary, and Richmond. The Keydets have been non-competitive in two of the three losses going down by 17 and 15 in those two contests. This is exactly the matchup the Akron needs after the rough start to the 2011 season. Akron heads into this matchup with the worst scoring defense in the nation (47.3 points allowed average) and the 3rd worst scoring offense in the country (5.7 points per game). The Zips have not even come close to competing on any level with the squads on their schedule including conference foe Temple who pummeled them 41-3. This should be a game that Akron finally has a better talent level than their opponent and should win this game to get to 1-3 with 7 conference games remaining on the schedule. Akron 24-17.
