QB
#14 David Graves QB 6-0 195 Jr.
Folsom, CA / Folsom High School--6 games played, 2 starts. 30 carries for 154 yards and 5 TD.
63-110 passing for 768 yards and 5 TD.
#12 Jeremy Higgins QB 6-1 200 So. Honolulu, O`ahu / Utah
State--Transfer from Utah State. Eligible this fall. 2nd string.
#11 Ikaika Woolsey QB 6-1 215 Fr. Rodeo, CA / Salesian HS--Incoming
freshman. 3rd string.
#15 Cayman Shutter QB 6-1 185 Jr. Kailua, O'ahu / Punahou School--1
game played. 1 carry for 0 yards. 1-2 passing for 13 yards.
#16 Justin Alo QB 6-1 195 Fr. Carson, CA / Carson HS--Incoming
freshman.
#08 Taylor Graham QB 6-5 235 So. Wheaton, IL / Ohio State--Transfer
from Ohio State. Eligible in 2013.
The quarterback position may be
one of the most interesting battles for Hawaii after losing another very
talented quarterback to graduation in 2011. last year's backup David Graves has
waited 2 years behind Moniz and finally gets his chance to be the man. Utah
State transfer Jeremy Higgins will not make that easy for him and left spring
as the co-number 1 quarterback for the Warriors. Incoming freshman Ikaika
Woosly and junior Cayman Shutter will battle for the #3 spot but Woolsey may be
redshirted and saved for the future. Fellow freshman Justin Alo will be too far
down the depth chart to compete for playing time.
RB
#07 Joey Iosefa RB 6-0 240 So.
Pago Pago, American Samoa / Fagaitua HS--13 games played, 11 starts. 110 carries for 548 yards and 7 TD. 20
catches for 122 yards and 1 TD. 1 tackle.
#04 Will Gregory RB 6-0 190 Fr. Compton, CA / Dominguez HS--Redshirted
in 2011. 2nd string.
#34 John Lister RB 6-0 210 So. Thousand Oaks, CA / Thousand Oaks HS--13
games played. 7 carries for 17 yards. 2 catches for 7
yards. 14 tackles. 3rd string.
#28 Sterling Jackson RB 6-0 220 Sr. Stone Mountain, GA / Mendocino College--12
games played, 1 start. 57 carries for 246 yards and 1 TD. 3
catches for 36 yards and 1 TD. 4th string.
#35 Jared Leaf RB 6-1 230 Fr. Martinez, CA / Alhambra HS--Redshirted
in 2011.
#?? Steven Lakalaka RB 5-10 200 Fr. Honolulu, HI / Punahou--Incoming
freshman.
Sophomore Joey Iosefa looks to
add to his freshman totals from 2011 in which he gained 548 yards on the ground
and 20 catches through the air. Backing Iosefa up will be redshirt freshman
Will Gregory, sophomore John Lister and senior and second leading rusher from
2011 Sterling Jackson. It is a bit of a surprise that Jackson is do far down
the depth chart but he should move up when the games start. Leaf and Lakalaka
could contend for special teams action.
FB
#43 Dustin Elisara FB 6-0 270 So. Kapolei, O‘ahu / Kapolei HS--No games
played in 2011.
TE
#86 Craig Cofer TE 6-5 250 Jr.
Livermore, CA / Grossmont College--2 games played. No stats in 2011.
#82 Darius Bright WR 6-4 230 Sr. Fayetteville, NC / City College of San
Francisco--7 games played, 4 starts. 19 catches for 192 yards and 1 TD. 2
tackles. 2nd string.
#?? Harold Moleni TE 6-3 230 Fr. West Valley City, UT /
Hunter--Incoming freshman.
The Warriors do not emphasize the
tight end position very much but when they do, Cofer, Bright and Moleni should
battle for playing time. Cofer is the current starter but Bright made 19
catches in 2011 and should be a weapon in the middle for the Warriors. Moleni
may be saved for 2013 with Bright and Cofer both being upperclassmen.
WR

College--JUCO transfer. 3rd sting.
#85 Corey Paclebar WR 5-7 170 Jr. Pleasant Hill, CA / Las Lomas HS--6
games played. 5 catches for 40 yards.
#?? Donnie King Jr. WR 5-7 155 So. Kapolei, O'ahu / Kapolei HS--1 game
played. No stats in 2011.
#21 Samson Anguay WR 5-7 160 Fr. ‘Ewa Beach, O‘ahu / Campbell

#24 Duke Bukoski WR 6-0 205 Fr. Honolulu, O‘ahu / St. Louis

2011.
#?? John Ursua WR 5-10 165 Fr. La'ie, HIKa'U & Pahala--Incoming
freshman.
The Warriors have seven wide
receivers that have playing experience from 2011. Junior Billy Ray Stutzmann is
the current leading returning receiver with 78 catches for 910 yards and 4
touchdowns. Sophomore Scott Harding and redshirt freshman Justin Vele have very
little experience but Harding was very good as a returner in 2011. Davis (28
catches), Ostrowski (65 catches), Sampson (18 catches), Clapp (38 catches),
Evans, and Paclebar (5 catches) all will be part of the rotation and could have
very big seasons this fall.

#?? Kiha Sai OL 6-4 300 Fr. Honolulu, HI Kamehameha School--Incoming
freshman.
The Warriors lost a lot on the
offensive line from 2011 with only 1 projected starter having any starting
experience. Right guard David Lefotu made 7 starts in 11 games played in 2011 followed
by Loeffler at right tackle, Muir at left tackle, Dew at left guard, and true
freshman Ben Clarke at center. The backups are almost as talented but not
experienced and are led by Winchester-Makainai who played in 9 games and
Shigmatsu who started the first two games of the season before suffering a
season ending injury in the second game. With 5 total incoming freshmen and a
JUCO transfer, the future looks bright for the Warriors.

The Hawaii defensive line has the
same problem that the offensive line is experiencing. Senior Paipai Falemalu
made 50 tackles from his defensive end spot in 2011 with 4.5 sacks. Defensive
tackles Hanohano and Samia both played in 12 games in 2011 with a combined 29
tackles in the middle as backups. Defensive end Beau Yap only made 3 tackles in
8 games played with one sack but must step up and make some plays in 2012.
Cravens (5 tackles), Malepeai (7 tackles), Correa, Matagiese (4 tackles), Dean
(1 tackle), and Woodard (2 tackles) all will be part of the rotation in 2012
and should improve their tackle totals
this fall.

Junior linebacker Art Laurel
leads the Warrior linebacker corps in 2011 after making 61 tackles with an
impressive 14.5 for loss to go along with 9 sacks and 3 forced fumbles. Laurel
will be flanked by weak side linebacker George Daily-Lyles (10 tackles) and
middle linebacker TJ Taimaturia (1 tackle). Alo (11 tackles), Daley, and
McBride (3 tackles) all look to be part of the rotation this fall and should be
ready to make some significant plays this fall.

Viejo--Incoming freshman.
Three of the four starting
defensive backs returning for 2012 made starts in 2011 with fairly impressive
seasons. Junior Mike Edwards made 43 tackles from his cornerback spot and was
very impressive on special teams as well. Free safety Mike Sellers was the
nickelback last fall making 30 tackles and a forced fumble and moves to the
free safety spot in 2012. John Hardy-Tuliau is the other cornerback making all 13
starts with 73 tackles and a staggering 4 blocked kicks on special teams.
Strong safety Bubba Poueu-Luna is the least experienced with only 2 tackles in
7 games played primarily on special teams last fall. Ornellas (12 tackles), Maggitt
(8 tackles), Clay (15 tackles), and Lutu (8 tackles) make up the backups that
must be ready to make a bigger impact in 2012 than they have made in the past.
LS
#45 Luke Ingram LS 6-6 235 Sr.
Mililani, O'ahu / Mililani High School--39 games played as long snapper.
One of the most tenured players
on the team, senior Luke Ingram has been the long snapper in 39 games of his Hawaii
career. Ingram is one of the players that the coaching staff is not worried
about performing and should continue to be a solid player for the Warrior
special teams this fall.
P
#31 Alex Dunnachie P 6-4 220 Sr.
Heidelberg, Victoria, Australia / Marcellin College--13 games played, 13
starts. 40 career starts at punter. 56 punts for 39.7 yard average and 18
inside the 20 yard line and 7 over 50 yards. 2 kickoffs, both out of bounds.
The most tenured player on the
Hawaii roster, senior punter Alex Dunnachie made 40 career starts forthe
Warrior special teams. Dunnachie made 56 punts in 2011 with a 39.7 yard average
pinning 18 punts inside the 20 yard line and booming 7 punts over 50 yards.
Dunnachie tried his hand at kickoffs but struggled with both kickoffs going out
of bounds.
K
#27 Tyler Hadden PK 5-11 180 So.
Whittier, CA / California HS--13 games played. 73 kickoffs with 2 touchbacks.
5-10 field goals with a long of 47 yards and 3 blocked. 18-21 extra point
attempts. 2 tackles.
#49 Kyle Niiro PK 5-11 225 Jr. Honolulu, O`ahu / Kaiser HS--2 games
played. 1 kickoff.
Sophomore Tyler Hadden struggled
during his freshman campaign making only 5 of 10 field goal attempts with a
long of 47 yards and went 18-21 on extra point attempts. Hadden kicked off 73
times with only 2 touchbacks but should improve that number with the new
kickoff rules.
ATH
#?? Jerrol Garcia-Williams ATH 6-3 200 Fr. Las Vegas, NV Palo
Verde--Incoming freshman.
The Warriors struggled in 2011
going 6-7 and missing out on a bowl game. 2011 was an up a down season ending
with losing 3 of 4 games. 2012 started with a trip to Los Angeles and a game
versus USC in the Memorial Coliseum. The Warriors get Lamar, Nevada, New
Mexico, Boise, UNLV and South Alabama at
home and should win at least 4 of those games. Hawaii goes to BYU, San Diego
State, Colorado State, Fresno State, and Air Force. If the Warriors go 3-3 in
those games then they will go bowling again this fall. 7-5 looks to be the most
likely scenario for the Warriors with a rebuilding defense and a new
quarterback.
