In similar fashion to FIU, the North Texas Mean Green scheduled all four non-conference games in the first 4 weeks of the season. The Mean Green start with newly independent Idaho at home followed by two straight games versus MAC teams with a trip to Ohio and a home game versus Ball State. To finish non-conference play, the Mean Green travel to Athens, Georgia for a meeting with the Bulldogs. The Mean Green have a tough conference slate with MTSU, Louisiana Tech, Rice, and Tulsa all being bowl eligible in 2012. Overall, the Mean Green face 7 bowl teams from 2012 in what turns out to be a brutal 2013 schedule.
