UAB decided to be very aggressive with their non-conference selections with two games at SEC teams. The Blazers travel to Sun Belt foe Troy before heading to SEC power LSU. After LSU, the Blazers host FCS team Northwestern State and head to Nashville, Tennessee for a game versus Vanderbilt. The Blazers also have a slightly difficult conference schedule with MTSU, East Carolina and Rice all making bowl games in 2012. The Blazers must pull one or two upsets to make it to a bowl game in 2013.
